Kanishka’s
Walnut Creek

This friendly neighborhood gathering space in a historical former fire station was transformed from a Japanese restaurant into a Neo-Indian gastro pub.  In her first restaurant endeavor, a young entrepreneur desired to open a restaurant reflecting her passion to bring together the foods from the many countries she visits, enhanced by the spices of her homeland, India.

    • A hip industrial look emerged, responding to an impossibly tight budget.
    • Low voltage lighting was expertly specified to avoid the expense of installing a larger electrical panel.
    • Clever locations of the lower handicap section of the bar meet ADA code requirements in the 49 seat small restaurant space.
